Across the diverse islands of the Archipelago exist distinct factions, each guided by their own beliefs and ambitions:
The Tribes
Living out their days under a shroud of mysteries on the outer islands, the Tribes guard their customs and secrets fiercely. They don’t like outsiders or venturing far from their homes, and any goals they may or may not happen to have stay locked behind cold stares and sealed lips.
League
The League is made up of elite trainers driven by competition and glory. Through gyms, tournaments, and rigorous battles, they uphold order, prestige, and the spirit of challenge from their headquarters in Central City. They are the training grounds of the next generation and the home of those who came before.
Rangers
Standing tall as the guardians of nature, Rangers bond with Pokémon without capturing them. They maintain ecological balance, resolve conflicts peacefully, and respond swiftly to emergencies throughout the Outerwilds and Far Reaches. They include both local rangers who respond to less severe crises throughout communities and Top Rangers based in Central City who handle extreme situations no matter where they may happen to be.
Tamers
The tech-savvy partners of Digimon known as Tamers monitor and manage digital anomalies that impact the physical world. Their expertise ensures the stability and safety of digital hotspots scattered across the islands. Tamers tend to work individually or in small groups without a direct administration overseeing them. As a result, this group displays a wide variety of philosophies, specialties, and actions.
Digital Dawn
Digital Dawn is a covert faction of talented hackers and technologists determined to merge the digital and physical worlds. They aim to weaponize Digimon to achieve dominance, operating discreetly from hidden bases in the Connoco Archipelago, but when they are found, it’s usually squabbling with The Twilight Order.
The Twilight Order
Consisting of mystics wielding forbidden rituals to control powerful Yokai, the Twilight Order is driven by a desire to ascend spiritually. They harness dark spiritual energies, their presence most notable around ancient sites on Conoocoo Island and throughout the Far Reaches. While they regard themselves as above society’s squabbles, they are frequently found fighting with Digital Dawn all over the realm.
Cat Pirates (The Nyakuzas)
The often-called Nyakuza are adventurous, feline-themed pirates driven by curiosity, thrill, and treasure. Renowned for their playful but unpredictable nature, their crews navigate the seas and islands with stealth and charm. On the off chance you actually catch one of them robbing you, you might just find yourself willingly opening your purse to them. Just don't mention the one cow pirate on the crew. He's an honorary cat.
Project Obsidian
Dark scientists obsessed with forcibly fusing lifeforms, Project Obsidian are as deranged as they are fond of the experiments they torture. Masquerading under progress, their unethical ambitions threaten to rewrite the laws of nature itself. Hidden laboratories near Central City conceal their controversial experiments and they are known throughout the city for their near-daily visits to local florist shops for “flowers to brighten up the office.”
Professor Koa's Lab
A sanctuary of peace and learning, Professor Koa’s Lab studies the harmony and coexistence among Pokémon, Digimon, and Yokai. It is a safe haven where young adventurers receive mentorship and guidance near the serene Zoryan Meadows. From researchers to future trainers to local rangers, all are welcome.
Pokémon Ranchers
Ranchers are caretakers who live harmoniously with Pokémon, tending farms and ranches to support communities. Their simple, dedicated lifestyle emphasizes sustainability and the natural bonds between humans and Pokémon.
The Spirit Keepers
Spiritual protectors fostering peace and understanding between Yokai and humanity, the Spirit Keepers are well-known and respected. They maintain sacred temples and sanctuaries near ancient sites, mediating conflicts through rituals, exorcisms, and compassionate guidance primarily on Conoocoo Island and the Far Reaches.
